Are you guilty of this?
Something called “manager complicity” is currently driving toxic workplaces, and you should know about it.

Hello, Buddy!
Just when we thought things might settle down, Tesla is back in the headlines with more layoffs.
This time, it's not just random employees feeling the brunt. Even senior executives and a significant number of the Supercharging team are being let go.

Manager Complicity.. What’s That?
Workplaces can turn toxic for various reasons, but more employees are now attributing it to one key factor: the behavior of their direct managers.
According to a survey by INTOO:
Over 70% of employees have encountered workplace toxicity.
About a third of those affected attribute the toxicity to their managers' unethical conduct, like favoritism and disregarding feedback.
When asked about the top 5 factors contributing to workplace toxicity, three out of the five directly point to their managers' actions rather than the organization as a whole.
This raises questions about managerial complicity: Are managers truly responsible for toxicity, or are their hands tied by higher-ups?
This article by Worklife left a recommedation though:
Managers feeling complicit in their own workplace’s toxicity can take some matters into their own hands by seeking out their own programs and training opportunities to give them some tools to be better people leaders, irrespective of directives from higher management.
Because at the end of the day, the person who mostly sets the tone of the day-to-day experience that each team member has is YOU!

Dear Careerbuddy,
I had been eyeing this colleague of mine for the longest time. She's literally perfect. She's never caught unfresh and this makes me want her all the more.
Thankfully, I have game too. Her birthday was on Monday and I saw your last newsletter where Reisty helped that person save their job, I decided to try out Reisty and it was so good.
I invited her to dinner saying I just wanted to celebrate her birthday with her and she excitedly came since there was no strings attached.
I put in a special note for the smiths saying I wanted them to bring a cake out with an inscription. She was so surprised and excited. She later told me that she quite admired me.
Well, I may have scored some point with her. I'll continue to be the sweet and loving boy till I ask her out in a month time.
